Application in details

Detergents based on surfactants from recycled carbon.

To create the detergents, LanzaTech will capture the waste emissions and convert them to ethanol through a bioreactor in which bacteria absorb these emissions, and then India Glycols will take this ethanol and convert it to ethylene oxide, the feedstock for the production of surfactants.

Scalability

The partnership is part of the Unilever Clean Future program, which aims to eliminate fossil fuel-based chemicals from all Unilever cleaning and laundry products by 2030.

Current application sites/areas
