Application in details

Thermolysis is the process of decomposition of chemical compounds under the influence of temperature without the use of catalysts. Thermolysis occurs as a result of greater splitting of one or covalent bonds in the molecule of a chemical compound.

Biofabrik's modular WASTX Plastic technology converts plastic waste back into liquid form: recyclable oil, which returns to the raw material cycle as a base for recycled plastic.
Each WASTX Plastic recycles up to 2400 kg of polyolefins per day, is containerized, fully automated and highly cost-effective.

Scalability

Coating and contamination often make mechanical recycling of plastic difficult or impossible. In most cases, the only option is landfill or incineration. Chemical recycling by thermolysis is one solution to produce virgin plastic from mixed and contaminated waste. In this process, synthetic crude oil is produced in a continuous and automated way to move closer to the goal of a circular economy.
